Eidul Adha; A story to ponder.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Eidul Adha.
Where it's  all about sharing, and sacrificing.
Sometimes, we forget about the beautiful story behind it; more than just doing the hajj, or korban, The story of Nabi Ibrahim definitely touches my heart, with all those reminders and lessons.

On how many years it takes for Nabi Ibrahim and Hajar before Allah give the a beautiful gift that they have been asking their whole life; a son. It is so admiring on how patient they were, keep praying every single day for the whole 88 years and believe that Allah listened to every tears and hopes they put into their duas.

On how Nabi Ibrahim left his wife and small little baby on a desert. I remember reading Hajar asked Nabi Ibrahim if this is indeed an instruction from Allah. Knowing it, she faithfully said "If so, I'm sure I will not be disregarded by Him." Even when Hajar did not found any water for his beloved son, she did not give up going back and forth from Safa to Marwa. How she strongly believe that Allah will help them. And He indeed sent the angel to help Hajar.

On how hard it is for Nabi Ibrahim, to bring his son to the desert, to slaughter his long awaited son when Allah asked him to do so. When he told his son, Nabi Ismail sincerely said his father to follow Allah's instruction; "“O my father! Do as you are commanded. You will find me, God willing, among those who are patient." [37:102]  When syaitan tried to incite three of them, they threw some stones to the syaitan. Their level of faith is something that I yearning for, doing my best to believe in him more and more.

And reading the story, makes me missing the holy place. I pray that one day, all of will got the chance to go and make our hajj. So that we will understand the journey of Nabi Ibrahim and become closer to Him. Just like how it builds Nabi Ibrahim's faith, I hope it builds us too.

Never in my sight,
But always in my heart;
The love is always there,
It will never die,
Only grow up stronger,
A tear rolls down my eyes.
